Otherworldly

A Simple Life

Roleplay-oriented gowns in Second Life are quite often on the fancier side, suitable for the ladies of the realm. But sometimes you want to portray other sides of the story and fortunately Senzafine has a new gown out at Genre‘s Medieval round (which is awesome in general) which is perfect for that purpose. Feel like playing Cinderella before she found her prince? Now you have the right dress for the occasion. And if you visit We Love Role-Play, you can pick up a great oven and cookware set from Noble Creations so that you can get your work done too.

Skin Fair: Kismet by alaskametro

Skin Fair opens on the 11th of March, so expect to see a lot of skin here in the upcoming posts. Which of course may not be that different from what the upcoming posts usually would have anyway… The first skin I am taking a closer look is the new line from alaskametro, a very nice hybrid skin that mixes photosourcing and handdrawing. I am also featuring releases from Roawenwood, Luxuria, The Plastik and EMO-tions.

Violetta’s Wolf

I wasn’t quite sure in what direction to take this post, but then the new wolves from Jian for We Love Role-Play (which opens today!) landed in my inventory. All of a sudden, a more gothic scene was born, in a dark and lonely manor out on the English moors. A grand bookcase from Noble Creations helps set the scene and a few pieces of heirloom jewellery from the Plastik finishes off the look.

Autumn Wishes

There are few things as pretty as a forest full of autumn leaves and in Second Life that can last more than a brief time, as the leaves stay on the trees until you click the season change to winter. Using a little forest of Studio Skye trees as the backdrop, I setup the Wishing Well from Jian to take a few photos of a lovely Senzafine gown, turned slightly wicked by the ieQED hand jewellery.

Waiting, in Winter

I may have mentioned my growing tendency to hoard landscaping items ever since Ran and I ended up renting a full sim. I still haven’t quite found a knack for landscaping, but I am working on it, and at least it gets easier with great mesh products from places like Studio Skye, Fanatik and Jian, all used to put together the location for these photos.

Celebration

For We Love Role-Play, Jian (whose mainstore had its grand opening on June 1st) has released a fabulous banquet set called Old World Celebration which is sold for 30% off at the event. I was so thrilled when I received this set that I went out and hunted for a suitable prefab to display it in (and let me tell you, there’s a shortage of good mesh castles!). After much debating, I finally settled on the Medieval Village set from Fanatik, where the largest building features a grand hall.

In Darkness and Light

If you’re not already all in black, its time to let your inner goth out to play because today the World Goth Fair by Cursed Events opens. The event sports an amazing, very appropriate build and an excellent selection of designers. In this post, I am giving just a little taste of that, combined with pieces from the Fantasy Gacha Carnival, We Love Role-Play, The Secret Affair and the Dark Style Fair.

The Guardian

We Love Role-Play has just opened its 2 year anniversary round and it is a fittingly spectacular round, with many great offers and plenty of designers with celebratory gifts. Some of my favourite pieces this round come from aisling, PXL and the Plastik.

Contemplation

The Plastik is definitely more than fantasy clothes and accessories and the striking gown I am wearing in this post is just one of many examples of the versatility of the brand. Also featured is one of the new hairs from Calico for this round of We Love Role-Play.

Discipline

If you or someone you know is in need of some correction, then elymode might have just what you need at the Pose Fair. Elysium had passed me one of the two sets featured in this post, and then when she wondered if the poses in the other set would work for a guy as well as a girl, I immediately volunteered Ran as a guinea pig. As it turned out, he was quite pleased with the arrangement. ;)

Springtime Romance

The spring edition of The Seasons Story is here and aisling has released a lovely little collection of quite varied pieces, two of which I will be featuring in this post together with a new hair from Entwined for We Love Role-Play. I’ve also been hard at work (well, occasionally at work, anyway) on getting this corner of our sim a bit more landscaped, though it is still a bit of a work in progress.

Easter Maiden

It has not been a good couple of weeks since I last posted, so I have been slow to embrace the change of season and start looking forward to the rest of the year again. But Easter is hard to just ignore (and Easter candy always helps to perk one up), so when a box of adorable new releases showed up from Dysfunctional Designs, I found myself with a bit of inspiration again.

Skin Fair 2015: alaskametro

After being stolen away by RL for a few days it is time to take a look at another new skin release from the Skin Fair. This time we’ll be looking at alaskametro‘s new skin line. And, before we get around to the nudity, I am taking a look at some new accessories from Senzafine and ieQED.

Skin Fair 2015: Imabee

Two more days and Skin Fair 2015 will open its doors. The second skin that I am featuring is from Imabee, whose new face Imogen will be launched at the fair. In this post you will also see new horns from the Plastik and some adorable fluttery critters from Dysfunctional Designs.

Skin Fair 2015: Tuli

Skin Fair 2015 is only a few days away (March 13th) and it brings with it a welcome return to the world of Second Life skins: a new release by Tuli. Her skins have been among my favourites for a very long time and I still wear some of the previous releases now and then and would do so with regularity if they only had Physique appliers. As tends to be the case with my skin posts, I prefer to go light on clothing to show the body as well as the face, but I could not resist some accessories by aisling, Sax Shepherd Designs and ieQED. I am also giving a look at a skybox from Dysfunctional Designs that I soon hope to show more of.
